PRESENTATION
The
La Paz WGO/JICA Training Center of Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy for Latin
America, has headquarters in the Bolivian-Japanese Institute
of Gastroenterology (I.G.B.J.) of La Paz city since 2005.
Objectives:
A)
Main Objective:
To promote the highest standards for
the development of the Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy
in Latin American countries.
B)
Specific Objectives:
-
To
upgrade, deepen and/or acquire knowledge about the specialty with
base in programs fundamentally directed to young specialists.
-
To
develop a curriculum for training in Gastroenterology and
Digestive Endoscopy, appropriate to the local and regional
necessities of medical care, by means of the use of innovative
instruments of education and medicine, based on evidence, and
sustained in ethics and science advances.

To
establish programs of training that allow interaction in each
training process.

To
promote guides of better practice in Gastroenterology and
Digestive Endoscopy.

To
stimulate a favourable atmosphere for appropriate relationship
among trainees, national and foreing experts.
The
La Paz WGO/JICA Training Center has the academic and logistic support of the World
Gastroenterology Organization (WGO) and the Japan International
Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The
American Society of Digestive Endoscopy (ASGE), Canadian Association
of Gastroenterology (CAG), Spanish Association of Gastroenterology
(AEG), Bolivian Society of Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy
and Olympus Corporation contribute to the Training Center providing professors of
the highest level.
The
IV INTERNATIONAL COURSE OF ADVANCES IN GASTROENTEROLOGY AND DIGESTIVE
ENDOSCOPY is programmed in March 2008 from 10th
to 24th.
INDIVIDUAL
COURSES OF THERAPEUTIC ENDOSCOPY 2008, will be carried out in February to
July and July to December.

“50th Anniversary WGO”
as
homage of the half century that this Organization is working in the
development of the specialty in the whole world.
